Mahabalipuram, a sea port of 7th century, is located in the district of Kancheepuram in the state of Tamil Nadu. Mahabalipuram is said to be the second capital of Pallava dynasty. The city was flourished during the Pallava rule. Mahabalipuram is known for its several ancient historical monuments which are in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and for the sandy beaches.
